Catholic widgets for iPhone

MySavior gives Catholics three kinds of iPhone widget: a Saint of the Day for every day of the year, a countdown to feasts such as Divine Mercy Sunday, Corpus Christi, the Assumption and the Immaculate Conception, and Lock Screen symbols like the Sacred Heart, IHS, Chi Rho and the Lamb of God.

All three work on the Lock Screen, and the saint and the countdown also come in a small Home Screen size. MySavior is made for Christians of every tradition, so this page says plainly what is Catholic and what is not.

Saint of the Day

A saint for each day of the year

The Saint of the Day widget shows one entry for each of the 366 days of the year: 307 saints, 9 Blesseds, 12 popes and 38 feasts and other commemorations. On October 8, 2026 it shows Saint Pelagia. It changes at midnight, and a tap opens the saint’s biography in the app, taken from Wikipedia.

The calendar loosely follows the General Roman Calendar, so it includes Marian days such as Our Lady of Fátima (May 13), Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7) and Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12), as well as the Chair of Saint Peter (February 22) and the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica (November 9). Some days use dates from the United States, such as Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton (January 4).

Browse all 366 days by month, or read how the Saint of the Day widget works.

Christian Countdown

Catholic feasts in the countdown

The Christian Countdown widget counts the days to the next of 30 feasts. These 13 belong to the Catholic calendar (several are kept by other Christians too); the days are counted as of October 8, 2026.

  • Auto or one feast. On Auto, the widget follows the nearest feast that is ticked under Manage feasts in the app; 16 major feasts are ticked at first. To keep one feast, such as Divine Mercy Sunday, choose it under Event when you edit the widget.
  • Thursday dates. The Ascension (39 days after Easter) and Corpus Christi (60 days after Easter) are counted to the Thursday. Where your diocese keeps them on the following Sunday, the widget still counts to the Thursday.
  • Moved feasts. When Saint Joseph or the Annunciation falls in Holy Week or the Easter octave (Palm Sunday to the Sunday after Easter), the countdown moves it, as the Church does: in 2027 the Annunciation is counted on April 5.

The countdown also covers the feasts every Christian keeps, from Advent and Christmas to Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost. See all 30 feasts and their dates.

Lock Screen symbols

Catholic symbols for the Lock Screen

Each symbol is its own widget, in a round or a rectangular size, drawn in the Lock Screen’s tint. Put one next to the saint or the countdown, or a few side by side.

What is not Catholic-specific

MySavior is written for Christians of every tradition. If you are looking for a fully Catholic app, these points matter:

  • The 816 built-in texts (125 Bible verses, 125 prayers, 125 reflections, 125 affirmations and the Lock Screen encouragements) are non-denominational. None of them is a Marian prayer, and there are no Mass readings, Liturgy of the Hours or rosary.
  • The countdown also includes Reformation Day (October 31), a Protestant commemoration, and US Thanksgiving, a national holiday. Reformation Day is not in Auto mode by default; Thanksgiving is, and you can untick any feast under Manage feasts.
  • Easter and the feasts that depend on it follow the Western (Gregorian) calendar.
  • The saint calendar is a devotional companion that loosely follows the General Roman Calendar, not an official liturgical calendar for your country or diocese.
  • The app is in English.

Questions and answers

Is MySavior a Catholic app?

It is a Christian widget app for every tradition with strong Catholic features: a Saint of the Day calendar that loosely follows the General Roman Calendar, countdowns to Catholic feasts, and symbols such as the Sacred Heart and IHS. Its built-in Bible verses, prayers, reflections and affirmations are non-denominational.

Does the countdown include Divine Mercy Sunday and Corpus Christi?

Yes. Divine Mercy Sunday is counted 7 days after Easter and Corpus Christi 60 days after Easter, on the Thursday. In 2027, Divine Mercy Sunday is on April 4 and Corpus Christi on May 27. Neither is in Auto mode by default, so tick them under Manage feasts in the app, or pin one to a widget.

Which Catholic symbols can I put on my Lock Screen?

The Sacred Heart, two IHS monograms, the Chi Rho (plain or with Alpha and Omega), the Lamb of God and a candle, among 17 Christian symbol widgets in circular and rectangular sizes.

Does MySavior follow the Catholic calendar of the United States?

Partly. The saint calendar uses some United States dates, such as Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton on January 4. The countdown uses the Thursday dates for the Ascension and Corpus Christi. In the United States, Corpus Christi is kept on the following Sunday, and so is the Ascension in most dioceses.

Does MySavior have the daily Mass readings or the rosary?

No. MySavior has no Mass readings, Liturgy of the Hours or rosary. Its texts are short Bible verses, prayers, reflections and affirmations, plus the saint biographies from Wikipedia.
