Christian Lock Screen widgets for iPhone

MySavior puts Christian widgets on your iPhone Lock Screen: short faith encouragements that change on their own through the day, a countdown to the next Christian feast, Saint of the Day, and 17 Christian symbols such as the cross and the Chi Rho.

That makes 21 Lock Screen widgets, in all three sizes iOS allows. They show short encouragements rather than Bible verses; for a whole verse, MySavior makes Lock Screen wallpapers.

Every Lock Screen option in MySavior

The iPhone Lock Screen has a widget row with four slots, where a rectangular widget fills two and a circular widget one, and a date line above the clock with room for one inline widget. This is everything MySavior can put there.

Encouragement widgets

Short encouragements that change through the day

These are MySavior's own short lines of faith, written to fit the Lock Screen: 200 for the rectangular size (19 to 75 characters) and 116 for the inline size (20 characters or fewer), in the same 12 topics as the rest of the app. They are encouragements, not Bible verses, and carry no reference.

  • They change on their own, 24 times a day by default. In the Lock Screen tab of MySavior's Widget Studio, Refresh offers 24, 12, 6 or 1 changes a day. The rectangular and inline widgets change separately and skip lines you have just seen.
  • You choose the topics. Content, in the same tab, sets which of the 12 topics they draw from.
  • Two widgets, two lines. In the widget gallery they are “Variant 1” and “Variant 2”. Variant 2 always shows the line after the one in Variant 1, so with one of each on your Lock Screen you see two different lines.
  • Tap to share. Tapping one opens MySavior's share screen, to send the line as an image.

Bible verse on the Lock Screen

Want a Bible verse on your Lock Screen?

No Lock Screen widget in MySavior shows Bible verses. A rectangular Lock Screen widget holds a sentence or two, and an inline one a few words, so MySavior writes encouragements for that space instead.

To keep a whole verse in view, make it your wallpaper. MySavior's wallpaper maker lets you type any text, such as a favorite verse with its reference, or pick one from the app's library. Place it on one of 110 backgrounds or an Unsplash photo, then save it to Photos as an image the size of your iPhone's screen, with no watermark. Last, set it as your Lock Screen wallpaper in iOS; apps can't change the wallpaper for you.

You can keep both: a verse wallpaper behind the clock, and encouragement, countdown or symbol widgets below it.

Countdown, saint, symbols

More Christian widgets for the Lock Screen

Three more kinds of MySavior widget work on the Lock Screen. The countdown and the saint also come in a small Home Screen size.

Thu 8Christmas · 78 days
9:41

Christian Countdown

Days until a Christian feast, in all three sizes: the feast and the days left (rectangular), the count and a short name (circular), or one line beside the date (inline). Pin one of 30 feasts to each widget, or leave it on Auto for the nearest one: by default Auto follows 16 major feasts, and in MySavior you can switch any of the 30 on or off. The count changes at midnight.

Thu 8Saint Pelagia

Saint of the Day

A saint or feast for each of the 366 days of the year, rectangular or inline. It changes at midnight, and a tap opens the saint's story in MySavior. On October 8, 2026 it shows Saint Pelagia.

Setup

How to add a Christian widget to your Lock Screen

  1. Install MySavior and open it once, so its widgets appear in the widget list.
  2. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until Customize appears, tap it, then choose Lock Screen.
  3. Tap the widget area below the time for rectangular and circular widgets, or tap the date above the time for an inline widget.
  4. Find MySavior in the list and tap a widget: Variant 1 or Variant 2 for encouragements, Christian Countdown, Saint of the Day, or a symbol by its name, such as Chi Rho.
  5. For the countdown, tap the placed widget and set its Event to Auto or to one feast. Close the list and tap Done.
  6. Optional: in MySavior, open the Widget Studio, then the Lock Screen tab, to choose topics and how often encouragements change.

For your Home Screen, MySavior also has the Bible Verse widget, with verses, prayers, reflections and affirmations in your own design. See every MySavior widget.

Questions and answers

Can MySavior put a Bible verse widget on my iPhone Lock Screen?

Not as a widget. MySavior's Lock Screen text widgets show short faith encouragements written for that small space, not Bible verses. To keep a whole verse on your Lock Screen, type it in MySavior's wallpaper maker, save the image and set it as your wallpaper.

How often do the Lock Screen encouragements change?

MySavior's Lock Screen encouragements change 24 times a day by default. In the Lock Screen tab of MySavior's Widget Studio, you can choose 24, 12, 6 or 1 changes a day. The rectangular and inline widgets change separately, and iOS decides the exact moment a widget refreshes, so a change can arrive a little late.

Can I show two different encouragements at the same time?

Yes. Add both encouragement widgets, called Variant 1 and Variant 2 in the widget gallery. Variant 2 always shows the line after the one in Variant 1, so the two never show the same line.

Which Christian symbols can I put on the Lock Screen?

MySavior has 17 Christian symbol widgets, each one its own widget in circular or rectangular size: Cross Classic, Chi Rho, Chi Rho AΩ, Alpha Omega I, IHS Modern, IHS Medieval, Orthodox Cross, Jesus Fish, Sacred Heart, Peace Dove, Bible, Lamb of God, Candle Classic, Church Silhouette, Church Line, Church Solid and Jerusalem Cross.

Why don't I see MySavior's widgets when I customize my Lock Screen?

Open MySavior once after installing it, then try again: iOS usually lists an app's widgets only after it has been opened. MySavior needs an iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later.
