Frequently asked questions

What does the MySavior app do?

MySavior is an iPhone app of Christian widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen: a Bible Verse widget you design yourself, a countdown to 30 Christian feasts, Saint of the Day, short Lock Screen encouragements and 17 Christian symbols. It is made by the MySavior team, needs iOS 18.6 or later and is in English. On the App Store it is listed as “Bible Widgets: MySavior”.

Which widgets does MySavior have?

22 widgets appear in the iOS widget gallery: Bible Verse (Home Screen small and medium); Christian Countdown (Home Screen small; Lock Screen rectangular, circular and inline); Saint of the Day (Home Screen small; Lock Screen rectangular and inline); two Lock Screen encouragement widgets (rectangular and inline; the gallery currently names them “Variant 1” and “Variant 2”); and 17 Christian symbol widgets (Lock Screen circular and rectangular), such as Chi Rho, the Jerusalem Cross and the Sacred Heart. See every widget.

How do I add a MySavior widget to my Home Screen?

Install MySavior and open it once. Then touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle, tap Edit in the top-left corner and choose Add Widget. Search for MySavior, swipe to the widget and size you want, and tap Add Widget. To choose which saved design a Bible Verse widget shows, touch and hold it and tap Edit Widget. Step-by-step Home Screen guide.

How do I add a MySavior widget to my Lock Screen?

Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize and choose Lock Screen. Tap the area below the time to add a rectangular or circular widget, or tap the date above the time for an inline widget, then pick a MySavior widget from the list and tap Done. Step-by-step Lock Screen guide.

Does the Home Screen verse widget change by itself?

No. In version 1.3.1, the Bible Verse widget on the Home Screen does not change on a schedule. A widget set to a saved design (touch and hold it, then Edit Widget) always shows that design’s text. Without a saved design, it shows the current text from the topics you picked, and the medium size moves on when you tap its Next arrow (unless you hid its buttons); the small size has no arrow. To show something else, pick another design in Edit Widget or change the text in the app. More about the Bible Verse widget.

Which MySavior widgets change on their own?

The two Lock Screen encouragement widgets show a new short encouragement 24 times a day by default; in the app’s Widget Studio you can choose 12, 6 or 1 a day instead. The Christian Countdown updates its day count every day and, in Auto mode, moves to the next feast once one has passed. Saint of the Day changes at midnight. The symbol widgets always show the same symbol.

What Lock Screen widget sizes does MySavior offer?

All three: rectangular (21 widgets: the countdown, Saint of the Day, both encouragement widgets and the 17 symbols), circular (18: the countdown and the symbols) and inline, the single line above the clock (4: the countdown, Saint of the Day and both encouragement widgets). On the Home Screen, the sizes are small and medium. All the Lock Screen widgets.

Can I have several widgets with different designs?

Yes. Save designs in the app’s Widget Studio, add as many Bible Verse widgets as you like, then touch and hold each one, tap Edit Widget and pick a design; each widget keeps its own. Several countdown widgets can each follow a different feast: in Edit Widget, leave Event on Auto, which follows the nearest of the feasts switched on in the app (the 16 major ones by default), or choose one of the 30 feasts.

Is MySavior available on iPad or Android?

No. MySavior is made for iPhone only, with iOS 18.6 or later. There is no iPad version: an iPad can open it as an iPhone app in a phone-sized window, but the app is not designed for iPad. There is no Mac, Apple Watch or Android version either.

Does MySavior work offline?

Mostly. Built-in texts, themes and widgets work offline. Saint biographies load once from Wikipedia, then stay cached. Searching Unsplash photos needs a connection.

What languages is MySavior in?

English only. The app, its built-in texts, the widgets and the saint biographies (from the English Wikipedia) are all in English.

Is MySavior Catholic or Protestant?

Christians of any tradition can use it. The built-in prayers, reflections, affirmations and encouragements are non-denominational. Saint of the Day is based on the Catholic calendar of saints (307 saints, 9 Blesseds, 12 popes and 38 other days such as feasts of the Lord and of Mary), and the countdown has Catholic feasts such as Divine Mercy and the Immaculate Conception alongside Reformation Day and US Thanksgiving. The app does not filter content by tradition. Catholic widgets in MySavior.

Does MySavior work for Orthodox Christians?

Partly. The symbol widgets include an Orthodox Cross, and Saint of the Day includes Church Fathers honored in the East too, such as Basil the Great. But the countdown follows the Western (Gregorian) date of Easter and does not count down to Orthodox Easter (Pascha). In 2027, Western Easter is on Sunday, March 28 and Orthodox Easter on Sunday, May 2. See the symbol widgets.

Can I use my own photos as a widget background?

No. Backgrounds come from the 110 built-in themes (24 gradients and 86 photo and art backgrounds, including 17 classic paintings) or from a photo you find with the app’s Unsplash search. There is no way to pick a picture from your iPhone’s camera roll.

Do I need an account?

No. MySavior has no sign-up, no login and no iCloud sync. Your designs, favorites and settings are stored on your iPhone.

What data does MySavior collect?

There is no MySavior account: your designs, favorites and settings are stored on your iPhone. But the app does use outside services: Mixpanel for analytics (including your answers to the welcome questions and a screen recording of that welcome flow), RevenueCat to check your access with the App Store, and the Meta and TikTok SDKs to measure ad campaigns. Unsplash receives what you type in the app’s photo search, and Wikipedia receives requests when a saint’s story or photo loads. The privacy policy lists exactly what each service receives.

When did MySavior come out, and who makes it?

MySavior is made by the MySavior team. The app first appeared on the App Store on March 24, 2026; this site describes version 1.3.1. More on the About page.

How do I contact the MySavior team?

Email contact@mysavior.app. In the app, you can also open Account (the round button at the top right of the main screen) and tap Suggestion or Bug. For widget problems, the support page has step-by-step fixes.
