Step by step
Add a widget to the Home Screen
Before you start: install MySavior from the App Store and open it once, so that iOS lists its widgets. You need an iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later.
- Go to the Home Screen page
Swipe to the Home Screen page where you want the widget.
- Touch and hold the background
Touch and hold an empty area until the apps begin to jiggle.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget
Edit is at the top of the screen. Add Widget opens the widget gallery.
- Find MySavior
Type MySavior in the search field at the top of the gallery, or scroll down the list of apps, then tap MySavior.
- Pick a widget and a size
Swipe through MySavior’s options: Bible Verse (small and medium), Christian Countdown (small) and Saint of the Day (small).
- Tap Add Widget
The widget is placed on the Home Screen page you started from.
- Move it, then tap Done
While the apps are still jiggling, drag the widget where you want it, then tap Done.
Steps checked against Apple’s iPhone User Guide, Add, edit, and remove widgets (iOS 18) and the same page for iOS 26, on October 8, 2026. Both versions use the same steps, and so does Apple’s guide for iOS 27. iOS 26 also adds a shortcut: touch and hold an app icon, then pick a widget size at the bottom of its menu. The gallery is still the way to see each of MySavior’s widgets and choose one.

Edit Widget
Give each Bible Verse widget its own design
The Bible Verse widget can show any design you save in MySavior’s Widget Studio: a theme or an Unsplash photo, a font and colors, plus the text it showed when you saved it. You can place several Bible Verse widgets, small or medium, and each one keeps the design you pick for it.
- Save a design in MySavior
On the app’s main screen, tap the Widget Studio button (a phone with app icons); if the buttons are hidden, tap the cross at the bottom first. Make a small or medium widget and save it with a name.
- Touch and hold the Bible Verse widget
On the Home Screen, keep your finger on the widget until its menu opens.
- Tap Edit Widget
The widget’s settings open, with one option: Design.
- Tap Design and pick one
Every saved design is listed with its size, for example “Morning · Small”. Pick one made for the widget’s size: iOS doesn’t tell the list which size you are editing.
- Tap Done
Or tap outside the panel. Repeat for each Bible Verse widget: each keeps the design you gave it.
What a saved design changes
A widget set to a saved design shows that design and the text saved with it, without buttons, so one widget’s buttons can never change another. A Bible Verse widget with no design picked follows your current Widget Studio settings, including its buttons unless you hid them: Like and Share on the small size, Next, Like and Share on the medium size.
Pick which saved design this widget shows.

MySavior on the Home Screen
Which MySavior widgets fit the Home Screen
Three of MySavior’s 22 widgets are made for the Home Screen. They come in the small size, and the Bible Verse widget also in the medium size; there is no large size. The others belong on the Lock Screen.
| Widget (name in the gallery) | Sizes | What it shows | Edit Widget options |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bible Verse | Small and medium | A Bible verse, prayer, Christian reflection or affirmation in your own design | Design: any design saved in Widget Studio |
| Christian Countdown | Small | Days until a feast, over a photo for that feast or an Unsplash photo you choose in the app | Event: Auto — nearest feast, or one of 30 feasts |
| Saint of the Day | Small | The saint or feast of the day; tap it to read their story | None |
To change the countdown’s feast, touch and hold it, tap Edit Widget, then tap Event.
Troubleshooting
If something doesn’t work
MySavior isn’t in the widget gallery
Open MySavior once after installing or updating it, then search the gallery for “MySavior” again. If it is still missing, restart your iPhone, and check in Settings > General > About that it runs iOS 18.6 or later.
My saved design isn’t in the list
Only designs saved in Widget Studio appear, and only small and medium ones. Save the design in the app, go back to the Home Screen, and open Edit Widget again.
The design doesn’t look right
It may have been made for the other size. The list shows every saved design, small and medium together, so pick one whose label matches the widget, such as “· Medium” for a medium widget.
The text stays the same
That is how a saved design works: it keeps the text it was saved with. Pick another design, or edit this one in Widget Studio. A widget with no design picked moves on when you tap Next on the medium size.
I want MySavior on the Lock Screen too
The countdown and Saint of the Day also come in Lock Screen sizes, next to encouragements and 17 Christian symbols. Follow how to add a widget to your iPhone Lock Screen.

Questions and answers
How do I add a Christian widget to my iPhone Home Screen?
Install MySavior and open it once. Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle, tap Edit, then Add Widget. Search for MySavior, swipe to the widget and size you want, tap Add Widget, then tap Done.
Which MySavior widgets work on the Home Screen?
Three: Bible Verse (small or medium), Christian Countdown (small) and Saint of the Day (small). MySavior's other widgets, the encouragements and the 17 Christian symbols, are made for the Lock Screen.
How do I give each Bible Verse widget its own design?
Save each design in MySavior’s Widget Studio, add one Bible Verse widget per design, then touch and hold each widget, tap Edit Widget and choose its design under Design. You can place as many Bible Verse widgets as you like, and each keeps its own design.
Why can’t I find MySavior in the widget gallery?
Open MySavior once after installing or updating it, then search the gallery for “MySavior”. If it still isn't there, restart your iPhone and check that it runs iOS 18.6 or later.
Does the Bible Verse widget change by itself?
No. A widget set to a saved design always shows the text it was saved with. Without a saved design, it shows the current text from your Widget Studio settings and moves on when you tap Next on the medium size. Of MySavior's text widgets, only the Lock Screen encouragements change on their own, 24 times a day by default.
