Saint of the Day calendar
Saints of August
In MySavior’s Saint of the Day calendar, each of the 31 days of August has its own saint or feast: 25 saints, 1 pope and 5 feasts or commemorations. Each row links to the English Wikipedia article behind that day’s biography in the app.
August has the Transfiguration (August 6) and the Assumption of Mary (August 15), along with Saint John Vianney (August 4), Saint Clare of Assisi (August 11) and Saint Maximilian Kolbe (August 14). Near the end of the month, a mother and her son fall on consecutive days: Saint Monica (August 27) and Saint Augustine of Hippo (August 28).

Notes on August
- Mary, Mother of God (January 1) and Queenship of Mary (August 22) use the same Wikipedia article (Mary, mother of Jesus), so the app shows the same biography on both days.
- Nativity of John the Baptist (June 24) and Beheading of John the Baptist (August 29) use the same Wikipedia article (John the Baptist), so the app shows the same biography on both days.
- For Saints Pontian and Hippolytus (August 13), the app’s biography comes from the Wikipedia article on Pope Pontian.
Names are shown exactly as the app shows them. The day-to-saint matching loosely follows the General Roman Calendar of the Catholic Church, with some United States dates, so a saint may fall on another day in your local calendar. How the days are chosen.
